Twins Break Losing Streak, Finally!

The Minnesota Twins beat the Cleveland Indians last night in Cleveland 8-5. The Twins built up a big run lead and then tried to give it away (have they been taking lessons from the Minnesota Vikings?), but managed to hold on to snap their six game losing streak. The Twins played hard in the third inning when Justin Morneau hit a two-run double, Michael Cuddyer had an RBI double, and Jason Kubel hit a two-run homer – woo hoo! It was about time the Twins gave the fans something to be excited about. I thought Dennys Reyes was going to give it away, but Jesse Crain came in to get the Twins out of a tough spot and Joe Nathan came in to “close the door.” Sing it with me, you know you want to! Let’s hope the Twins can build on this momentum and put a few more notches in the win column.

Twins lead American League Central

It feels good to be number one and the view from the top is always sweetest. That’s what our American League Central Division leading Minnesota Twins are saying today! MLB Standings. The Twins are leading the division with a 16-14 record, mostly thanks to a five game win streak. The 16-14 record is the poorest record among the six division leaders so I won’t be breaking out that World Series Homer Hanky just yet, but it is still plenty to be excited about!

The Twins will host another division leader this weekend at the Metrodome when they face the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox have started out rocky on the road this season and the Twins have a definite chance to win and for sure split the four game series in front of the Metrodome crowd. I wish my mother was a Twins fan because I would love to be at the Dome this weekend! Perhaps I can score some Twins Tickets to Monday nights game! Go Twins!
